Wallace Peter “Wally” Saline, 63, of Duluth, died and went to the Lord after a long battle with COPD Thursday, July 8, 2010, in St. Mary’s Medical Center Hospice. He was born in Duluth to Arvid E. and Jean V. Saline Sept. 14, 1946. He graduated from Duluth East High School and attended Salter for welding school. Wally worked for Clyde Iron Works and then went to Alaska to work on the Alaskan North Slope pipeline in Prudhoe Bay. He also spent time in Japan on a work assignment. Wally decided he liked Alaska and stayed for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and gold mining in the off-season. Wally moved back to Duluth 10 years ago. He is survived by his brother Wayne (Mary) Saline of Saginaw; his sisters, Carol (Gary) Reigstad and Barb (Ron) Gross, both of Duluth; and many nieces and nephews
