Jim Surrell..Sad news (posted by Jim DeArmond) We lost another 65er, Jim Surrell. I've been in touch with his son, Kyle, for about a month. Kyle messaged me on Wednesday, Jan.3, his father had passed away. Jim was . comfortable, content, and at peace. I don't know if we'll see an obituary, so I'll tell you what I know. Jim died battling cancer and was living with his daughter, Leah, in Portland, Oregon. I believe most of his family was with him for Christmas and his last days.
Jim was a good friend of ours. After he came back from Vietnam, he lived with me and 4 other guys in a house we called the Ranch. We had a lot of good times over the years until 1969, when we all got married and we continued the good times. We both lived in Woodland and our kids grew up together.
