John Martin Wold, age 74, of Montverde, FL. passed away August 13th, 2021 after a fight against cancer and dementia. He was born February 20, 1947 in Duluth Minnesota, the son of the late James and Beatrice Wold.

John grew up in Duluth, MN and graduated from East High School. During his high school years he worked for the family business, “Martin Wold Plumbing Co.� After graduation, he obtained his pilot's license and worked as an instructor, flying mail and air emergency. In the late 70’s to early 80’s, he flew for Minnesota Power and Light as a corporate pilot. John also served as a member of the United States Army National Guard in 1968.

On August 14, 1976, he married Liana Mitchell from Madras, Oregon. They raised three children on Schultz Lake in Duluth, MN until moving the family to Florida in 1986.

John lived in Estero, FL. and Islamorada FL. before moving to Montverde, FL. in the fall of 2002. He spent his time either flying, fishing, or both in Minnesota, Alaska, Florida, and Costa Rica. When John retired from flying, you could find him at his computer(s). The fast world of technology was a hobby for John throughout the years.

John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Liana Wold; children, Corbett Wold of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Melissa (Tom) Hill of Lander, Wyoming, and Aaron (Yennifer) Wold of Brandon, Florida; Grandchildren, Nathan, Tyler, Morgan, and Trevor; and cousins, nephews, and extended family. He is also survived by his two Labrador Retrieves, Isabella and Timber and his two birds, Feather and Tica.
